Harmful Contaminants and Their Origin.

Posted under environment by Dmitry Vasenyov

Up to a certain stage of development of human society human activities,, in particular, industry did not violate the fundamental natural processes or effected very little on them. Millions of years the ecological balance in nature with preservation of natural ecological systems existed. It continued after the appearence man on the Earth.

But with the development of the industries everything has changed. The twentieth century brought a great technological process, quick development of industry, science, energy and agriculture. And as a result a harmful impact of human industrial activities has grown. And it is still increasing. And as a result unpredicted changes of ecosystems are taking place on the Earth. And it is bad both for the planet and for people.

Right now the great attention is paid to the ecological problems, cleaning and recycling of wastes in particular. In this article we will talk about one of the types of industrial wastes - gas emissions.

So how is industrial gas emissions classified? Harmful contaminants of industrial gas emissions can be divided into two categories. They are
-Gaseous and vaporous substance
-Suspended particles of solid matter - dust, smoke; liquid form - fog;
-Dust includes more large particles than fog and smoke and it is a dispersed unstable system.

Aerosols are solid particles of inorganic and organic origin, as well as particles of liquid (mist). Dust is a dispersed unstable system which contains more large particles than smoke and fog.

Inorganic dust in industrial gas emissions is generated by mining, ore processing, metals, minerals and fertilizers, construction materials, carbides and other inorganic substances. Dust of industrial organic origin - is, for example, coal, wood, peat, oil shale, soot.

Nowadays unfortunately we do not have completely waste-free industries. And the technologies of waste recycling are being developed. But right now it is very important at least to decrease the content of toxic impurities in the gas. It is necessary to bring it to the minimum permissible concentration established by sanitary standards.

Environmental pollution issue has become very pressing today. One of the ways to somehow decrease the pollution is use of soil stabilization and dust control solutions which are available on the market already. Let’s save the Earth!
