It has not been that long since the media was filled with stories of the bird flu and the potential risk to the global population. Deaths in several countries brought the idea of epidemic into our consciousness. Are we facing this same potential problem with swine flu, the newest of health concerns?
There are many diseases known to our animal population that are of little concern to humans. Typically measures are taken to reduce disease, but in the over populated conditions of farming and ranching it is an ongoing challenge. We are concerned when a livestock borne virus is transmitted to people, and we have seen the results with the bird flu. Will we have the same global health risk with swine flu?
The swine flu, and much other common flu varieties, are type A/H1N1, according to the Center for Disease Control or CDC. You can spread this flu virus by coughing or sneezing, for this type is spread through watery discharge or water vapor.
How can we counter the spread of flu viruses? One of the most highly recommended, and logical, is simply washing our hands. When you use a tissue you should dispose of it properly, and again wash your hands before handling anything or touching your nose, mouth or eyes.
We dont always take the time to clean up, and since a sneeze is designed to clear the irritants away from our body we can easily spread a virus without intent. What more can we do to improve our chance of avoiding viruses like the swine flu?
There are many simple steps you can take to create a safe, swine flu free environment. One of the most versatile and low cost is to bring water purification drops into your daily home, office and health routines.
You would think that water purification drops would have a single purpose, and yes they are the best method for purifying water, but there is more potential than is imaginable. When you use water purification drops such as sodium chlorite along with a food grade acidic activator, such as citric acid, you unlock the potential of those drops.
There is a synergetic action that happens when you mix the water purification drops with its activator, and the virus-busting action can continue for hours. When the mixture is finished it reverts back to water and sodium. Can these drops harm the human body or our animal population? No, in this diluted mix these drops will not harm healthy tissues.
The swine flu does not need to impact our busy lives, we have enough to deal with thank you very much! Instead, with a little maintenance and thought, and a clean, purifying anti-viral agent such as water purification drops, we can avert the swine flu.

It is important to think about the ways that the average homes today are actually hurting the environment, and the things that can be done about that fact. The average American household actually produces about two times the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that the average car does. Half of the energy costs go to either heating or cooling the home. However, there are things that can be done about this, if homes take the correct steps. Rising gas prices, coupled with tax incentives for those that use renewable energies, as well as the creation of more and more alternative energies each year, is leading to a world wide change in energy use.
Some are also choices for those that want to go further on the path towards renewable energies. These are things that require installation or changes, but they can make a great different on the way that your home is driven, and the power that is expended.
Choices for those that want to move further along the path towards renewable energies. These are things that require installation or changes, but they can make a big impact on the way that your home is run, and the energy that is used.
New Solar dwelling are power-efficient alternatives. In fact, according to a poll in 2008, nearly 75 percent of people think that solar power is a good option for new brick homes. The main change behind solar homes is that the home will make more power than it loses, which will mean that there is no need to have other types of power for your home.
Wind free energy is another form of renewable energy that many people believe in. It is generated by turbines, and can serve lots of different energy needs. Wind power costs are low about the same, or less, than other types of better electricity.
Hydro power is another type of energy. It can provide power for areas that are farther away from the energy grid. It is put in small rivers or streams, and doesn’t disrupt the environment because it isn’t a dam. It just uses water wheels that turn with the natural path of the water, to produce the energy.
You have to stop look around at the many types of natural and renewable energies that are making more people think green and more are very popular today, and that are worth looking in to. They are good for the world, and can be very good for your change purse as well.

There are many things to think about alternative energy and renewable energies. It is important to think about the ways that the average homes today are actually damaging the whole world, and the things that can be done about that fact. The average household actually produces about two times the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that the average car does. Half of the energy costs go to either heating or cooling the home. However, there are things that can be done about this, if households take the correct steps. Rising oil prices, coupled with tax incentives for those that use renewable energies, as well as the creation of more and more alternative energies each year, is leading to a world wide change in energy use.
Some are also choices for those that want to go further on the path towards renewable energies. These are things that require installation or changes, but they can make a great different on the way that your home is driven, and the power that is expended.
You also have choices for those that want to advance further along the tore towards free energy. These are things that require installation or changes, but they can make a huge impact on the way that your home is run, and the energy that is fished.
Big New Solar business are energy-efficient alternatives. In fact, according to a poll in 2007, nearly 93 percent of people think that solar energy is a good option for new homes. The main design behind solar homes is that the business will generate more power than it needs, which will mean that there is no need to have other types of power for your business.

A great way is the use of micro hydro is another type of renewable free energy. It can provide power for areas that are in deep in the woods from the power grid. It is installed in small rivers or streams, and doesn’t disrupt the fragile environment because it isn’t a dam. It just uses water wheels that turn with the natural flow of the water, to produce the power we need.
If you look around there are many types of natural and free energies that are becoming more and more trendy today, and that are worth getting involved out. They are good for the environment, and can be very good for your money purse book as well.

Solar power is one of the most used unconventional sources of energy today. Not only does it generate energy for free, it’s clean and virtually maintenance free. Want to know just how solar power works? Read on to see just how effective solar panels can be and how you can take advantage. If you are planning one for your own home or office, this piece of information on how solar power works may come to your help.
What should you do if you want to use solar power?
Solar power is just like normal electricity. Unlike typical power plants, solar energy doesn’t require any material to be burned and so is pollution free. Moreover, the electricity you generate is free, as you just convert the sun’s freely available energy into electricity. Just like regular electricity, you can use it any way you like, to power any item you like.
If you want to build your own system, you’ll need to get some background info first. Look online and you’ll find lots of different kits and guides that show you what to do. These will provide proper set up information and guidance for you to construct your unit at home. You’ll learn how to make the best use of solar power for your own home.
By trapping the light from the sun, the panels then convert that light energy into electrical energy. This is how solar power works. With minimal investment needed (for a DIY system) and easy maintenance, it’s a much more cost efficient source of energy. You can significantly reduce your bills from the first month.
Use the solar panel kits to make your own
These kits make it extremely simple for anyone to get started. You get everything you need in an easy to understand manner. These kits cost much less than buying big solar panels. The fact that you can install them by yourself also makes it cheaper. Once you get hold of such a kit, it will take you less than a day to get it installed and start using the free solar power.
Even though the solar panel kits will not provide you with the ability to power up your whole house, you can run a number of applications at the same time, and save a considerably amount of money.
If you’re fed up with rising electricity bills, now is the time to switch to clean and free solar energy. On a bright day, the sun gives out over 1000 watts of free energy per square yard - enough to power 10 bright lights. By knowing how solar power works and using it, you can tap this free energy, and use the money you save elsewhere.

One of the main contributors to the amount of carbon dioxide in the air is the production of energy. We all use electricity every day in fact we treat it as a given, we flick the switch and on go the lights, the television and the microwave but have you ever stopped to consider where your energy is coming from? If you havent, then you might not realize that most of our current energy needs are mostly being met by fossil fuels and coal. Both of these energy sources are responsible for a lot of the toxic carbon dioxide that is currently in our atmosphere and it is because of these carbon dioxide emissions that scientists are growing increasingly concerned with its impact on our environment.
Since people are not aware of how much their everyday consumption of electricity can effect the environment, they don’t think about finding alternatives. But, it is more important than ever to find clean, renewable and sustainable forms of energy. Fact is, that the rate at which we are consuming our current energy resources, they could be depleted before very long. We must also be cognizant of the fact that our current energy sources are harming the environment on a daily basis and make that our most important reason for finding alternative energy sources.
Energy companies today are on the lookout for alternative forms and are experimenting with solar and wind power more and more. In parts of the country where there are lakes and rivers that can be contained, dams are great sources of hydro power. The same is true for wind power which becomes harnessable when there are consistently moderate winds gusting. There are many, many geographic areas that don’t fall into either of these categories and the ones that do may not be able to produce enough of these energies to meet their power needs.
Right now researchers all over the globe are trying to find alternative energy sources. The most common yet controversial form of energy that does not release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is nuclear power, but concerns over the dangers of contamination and melt downs have kept nuclear power from developing on a larger scale. Nuclear power may be a clean form of energy but is not without its share of downfalls, it produces harmful nuclear waste which takes millions of years to break down which can only be stored. This is problematic considering we only have so much land for storage and being contained in this way, the nuclear byproducts could eventually leach into the environment.
Until something is discovered that can help reduce the problems we are all experiencing, the best thing that everyone can do to help the situation is to try to cut back on their energy usage on a consistent basis. Research has shown that if everyone just took the time to turn off the lights in their homes when they were not in use, that it would help to cut back the amount of energy being used by up to twenty five percent.

When you think about energy, what do you think of first? Which aspects of energy are important, which are essential, and which ones can you take or leave? You be the judge.
Electricity to heat and cool our homes is created through the burning of decreasing fossil fuels such as coal. Along with producing massive amounts of pollution, this source will eventually run out. Electric car manufacturers are racing to bring their products to market, and engineers are making fast strides in obtaining a 60 to 100 mile range on a charge. Within the next two years, consumers should have an exciting array of choices for electric and plug-in cars. Electricity use of appliances such as home electronics increased 57% between 1990 and 2003. Previous solutions included creating more energy by building additional power plants and/or adopting alternate fuel sources, some of which are less than environmentally friendly, such as coal.
Green Energy’s end-products include PV modules and PV systems in different sizes and power outputs. It sells PV modules under its own brand name, Yingli, to PV system integrators and distributors located in various markets around the world, including Germany, Spain, China, Italy and the United States. Green Energy does not undertake any obligation to update any forward-looking statement as a result of new information, future events or otherwise, except as required under applicable law.
The more authentic information about energy you know, the more likely people are to consider you a energy expert. Read on for even more energy facts that you can share.
Renewables - with the exception of biofuels - will substantially reduce gasoline/diesel only when significant numbers of the automobiles are powered by electricity - probably 10-15 years at the earliest. This confusion of energies (’electrons versus liquids’ as one pundit puts it) has muddied debate on energy issues for years.
But, contrary to researchers’ popular belief that large pores in supercapacitor carbons were superior in functionality, ‘was surprised to find out that pores smaller than one nanometer seemed to have better performance than larger pores. Utilizing this approach produced lighter and more powerful supercapacitor devices.’
Green energy provides a complete packaged solution for your lab. Services include initial consultation, support products and services, installation, training, testing / balancing and final certification of performance per ASHRAE / OSHA / ANSI standards. Green energy is commonly thought of in the context of electricity, mechanical power, heating and co-generation.

Even the most experienced technician can struggle when it comes to refrigerant leak detection in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and HVAC systems. Sometimes a leak can be well hidden, in an operating switch, a system component or even in the tubing.
Recent EPA regulations are focused on the need for effective refrigerant leak detection. The government maintains that the gases emitted during a leak are very harmful to the environment. It is no longer permissible to add refrigerant to a system when the levels are low due to a leak, but rather the leak must be fixed promptly.
There are numerous different methods available to a service technician, in their refrigerant leak detection efforts. For example, dye interception, a halide torch, a soap solution, isolation or pressurization. As each method can be time-consuming and costly, many companies are turning to refrigerant management software to help pinpoint the origin of a leak.
An electronic leak detector is one of the fastest methods used in refrigerant leak detection. These types of detectors can find leaks of hydrofluorocarbons and chlorofluorocarbons. Quick identification of a leak is important because the release of these gases is heavily regulated by the EPA, with companies subject to fines if their emissions are not fixed within a certain timeframe.
When it comes to refrigerant leak detection, refrigerant gas management software is invaluable. The software can provide you with exact details covering performance, venting, monitoring and detection of gas leaks in refrigeration and air conditioning systems and HVAC systems. Usage reports and maintenance and service records are also provided.
Refrigerant leak detection regulations govern the repair of a leak and outline proper disposal for a system that cannot be repaired. These extensive requirements are in force in the United States, as well as several foreign countries. The treaties set forth a worldwide response to improving and protecting the planet.
Quick action of refrigerant leak detection is a great importance to the environment. Refrigerant contains gases that have been identified as damaging to the ozone layer and show a high potential for causing global warming. To comply with environmental standards, many companies are investing in a refrigerant management program to monitor and track equipment usage.
An efficient refrigerant tracker monitors heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and refrigerant and air conditioning systems 24 hours a day. Due to significant environmental and cost concerns related to refrigerant leak detection, savvy businesses are relying on these applications, which can effectively save them thousands of dollars a year by monitoring systems for leaks.

Due to environmental concerns, many wonder how they can live greener at home. As people learn ways of conserving and recycling, they are amazed to discover how easy it is to go green. Not only does a green home support a better environment, but it can also be cost-effective. With a few adjustments, everyone can enjoy the benefits of green living.
One of the major ways your home consumes energy is through heating and cooling costs. If you set your home’s thermostat to 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter and to 25 degrees Celsius or 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer, you’ll both conserve energy and save money, too.
Also, by creating shade at windows at the east and west ends of a home, indoor temperature can be kept several degrees cooler as the morning and afternoon sun passes. Preparing meals before the air heats up or after it cools will also keep heat from becoming trapped inside of the home and reduce reliance on air conditioning. Ceiling fans also help circulate air and delay it from becoming too hot.
Another way you can go green is to watch your own consumption. Reduce or your use of or avoid using polyethylene plastic bags, such as those offered at grocery stores. These bags are made with petroleum, which is a fossil fuel. In addition, 100 billion of these plastic bags are thrown away every year, so that their disposal presents a hazard to the environment. Instead of using plastic bags, invest a few dollars in some reusable cloth grocery bags. This will greatly reduce the amount of plastic bags that are wasted every year, which will positively impact global warming.
Plastic water bottles, too, cause significant damage to the environment because they are not biodegradable; they spend years and years in landfills. Do your part to keep this from happening by buying every member of your family their own reusable water bottle and then filling it with tap water from home. (If you’re concerned about the quality of your own tap water for drinking purposes, filtration systems are still a very environmentally responsible and economic way to drink your tap water from home.)
Another negative impact on the environment is the carbon emissions caused by so many cars on the road and the resulting air pollution. Here, again, you can do your part to reduce those carbon emissions and your own expenditures on fuel costs by using public transportation or carpooling whenever you can, if you must take motorized transportation someplace. This will save you hundreds to thousands of dollars every year. For short distances, instead of taking the car, consider riding a bicycle or walking to get where you need to go. This is a very good form of exercise and again, is a great way to cut fuel emissions and fuel costs, too. As the demand for fossil fuels decreases, fuel prices themselves will drop and save you money even during those times you must drive.
When you remodel your home, choose bamboo floors instead of traditional floors made of wood. Bamboo is environmentally friendly because it replenishes itself very quickly as compared to wood. Bamboo can mature in 6 to 8 years, as compared to the 50 or 100 years it takes to grow the trees needed for hardwood. When you install your bamboo flooring, use glues that are free of formaldehyde, which is toxic.
Finally, dispense with paper bills whenever you can and use electronic bill paying instead. Many companies will in fact give discounts if you pay your bills electronically and opt out of getting paper bills in favor of electronic ones. When you must use paper products, choose recycled paper products, so that fewer paper waste products and up in landfills. In addition, choose paper products that have not been bleached, since the bleaching process is toxic to the environment.
Though some believe that going green is a painstaking process, the truth is that consciously doing so isn’t as difficult as it sounds. People who go green can feel satisfied about doing their part to nurture the earth and will find it rewarding to save a few pennies in the process.

Although the earths climate evolves naturally, the major cause of climate change that is harmful to the earth are manmade chemicals. While these chemicals are necessary to produce certain items, operate essential equipment, or make our daily lives easier, they are a danger to the environment and the air we breathe. As such, the U.S. and international governments are establishing regulations to limit the usage of substances that deplete the ozone layer or have a high global warming potential.
Many other systems that we rely upon on a day-to-day basis contain refrigerant gas, which is a major cause of climate change. The gas is used to run the commercial refrigeration units, HVAC systems and a conditioning systems, and is composed of chlorofluorocarbons and hydrochlorofluorocarbons, known to contribute to global warming. Its usage is scheduled to be phased out by 2015.
Fossil fuels are a major cause of climate change because they lead to an increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Natural gas, oil and coal used to operate vehicles and generate electricity emit high levels of carbon dioxide, identified as a chief contributor to global warming. Fossil fuels also produce carbon monoxide, methane emissions, nitrous oxide and nitrogen oxides, all substances that impact air quality and global warming.
Methane is a significant cause of climate change and is a natural substance discharge by animals, including cows, pigs, sheep and horses. Methane gas can be found around landfills, in fertilizers and near coal mines and oil drilling sites. In a gas leak, a high volume of this dangerous chemical is discharged.
There are many harmful gases found in the day-to-day equipment that we are so used to, substances which are a root cause of climate change. We do not have to look far for these gases, as they are common in commercial refrigerators, air conditioners, HVAC systems, freezers etc. Targeted gases include fluorine, chlorine, bromine, atomic chlorine, nitric oxide, hydrochlorofluorocarbons and chlorofluorocarbons.
A number of processes and daily household items are being studied to identify measures that would limit their impact on global warming. Aerosols are under study as well as animal agriculture, deforestation, cement manufacturing and land usage — all considered to be a primary cause of climate change.
Many types of pollutants are a cause of climate change. Common pollutants are carbon dioxide, methane, black carbon and nitrous oxide. As these pollutants grow, the protective layer trapping heat from the sun becomes damaged, thus resulting in global warming. Scientists warn that global warming can destroy the planet if no action is taken.
Simply put, too much heat stored in the atmosphere is the cause of climate change. The amount of greenhouse gases in the air contributes to atmospheric heat. Overwhelming heat can create significant changes in the earths climate, affecting both land and ocean. As a result, human, animal, plant and marine life will be severely impacted.

In the Heart of the New York Catskill Mountains, there is a place called Nicks Waterfall House. I have been there many times and it has become one of my favorite places of all time to ride to.
There are times when the stress of our lives and jobs can get even the best of us a little down. If you are a straight lace citizen you go to a Doctor and get some pills or maybe see a shrink. If you are a Biker you hop on your Motorcycle get the motor running and you head out to a place like Nicks Waterfall House.
It does not matter where you are or what direction you come from. The ride threw the NY Catskill Mountains is going to relax the stress away from the depths of your very soul. As you ride to Nick’s threw long winding roads up over and into the heart of some of the worlds most majestic Mountains, with the Sun shining down on you and the fresh Mountain air filling your lungs you will start to get a feeling of what one can only describe as pure joy.
As you get near Nicks Waterfall House located on Route 990v, Gilboa New York 12076, either alone or with a group of friends. You will feel as if time and space are no longer a factor in the Universe, and it only gets better from there! As you ride in the first thing many think is they have reached some old time lost resort, but have no fear Nicks is a Biker bar.
When you walk threw the front door you will no longer have any doubts you have arrived at the right place. If Nick is not there to great you himself, there is a good chance he is in his large kitchen cooking up some classic Biker grub. I recommend the first thing you do is order an Ice Cold Beer and go sit by the large windows over looking a Waterfall that looks as if it was stolen from the year 1492. If there is any stress or negative emotions left in your body after the ride to the Waterfall House after only a few minutes watching the water fall down and roll over the rocks it will soon have all washed down stream.
Then it is time to meet the locals, grab another Beer and maybe some of that great food (My favorite is the Waterfall House Cheeseburgers) or maybe shoot a game of pool. The crowd at Nicks is a mix of friendly Bikers, locals and good ole boys. This is a place to exchange stories and Adventures from the road. Often the sharing of stories can go on for hours.
It is easy to have what some may call too much fun at Nicks Waterfall House but with rooms up stairs starting at only $25 a night, there is no reason to worry! Now I want to make sure that you know when I tell you there are rooms at Nicks you understand these rooms where created for road weary bikers. If you bring your old lady with you make sure she is a real biker Chick because Nicks is no Yuppie bed and breakfast! It is a real bikers, biker bar and what you get when you rent a room from Nicks is a communal living room a bed to sleep in and a shower to wash off the road dust! One other thing you get from a night at Nicks is a renewed Spirit of Adventure and a willingness to face what ever maybe up around the next bend in your life!
I have many local Bars that I think of as home and I love to go to and cut loose, but when I hear that call of the road it is often telling me it is time to go to Nick’s Waterfall House!!!
For more info or directs call 607-588-9891 and ask for Nick.
